Sports massage
that comes to you
Assessment led soft tissue treatment for people who sit for a living and train around it. At your home, your workplace or your gym.
Sports massage is soft tissue treatment aimed at how you move, not just how you feel on the table. The difference matters. A pleasant hour of general massage can leave the same restriction in place by Wednesday. The point here is to find the tissue that is genuinely limiting you, work on that, then give you something to do so the change holds.
What a session involves
Every first appointment starts with an assessment. That means watching how you move rather than asking where it hurts and going straight there. Pain and cause are frequently in different places: a neck that aches often traces back to a thoracic spine that has stopped rotating, and a lower back that grumbles by Thursday is often a set of hip flexors that never lengthen because you sit for nine hours.
From there the treatment is targeted. Deep tissue work, trigger point release, myofascial technique and assisted stretching, chosen for what the assessment found. You are not lying still for an hour while every muscle gets the same treatment.
The session finishes with two or three specific things to do between appointments. Not a printed sheet of twenty exercises that nobody completes. Two or three, tied to what we found, that fit into the day you actually have.
Who it helps
- Desk workers carrying neck, shoulder and lower back tension from long screen days and commuting
- Gym and strength athletes whose overhead position, squat depth or hip rotation has quietly reduced
- Runners and cyclists whose legs are not clearing between sessions
- Anyone returning to training after a period off, where the tissue has not caught up with the ambition
Mobile, and what that actually means
A professional treatment couch, towels and everything needed comes to you. Home, workplace or gym. For most clients the appeal is simple arithmetic: an hour of treatment stays an hour rather than becoming two and a half hours once travel and parking are counted.

What sports massage is not
It is not a diagnosis. If something suggests a problem that needs medical assessment, you will be told plainly and pointed towards a GP or physiotherapist. It is also not a substitute for loading the tissue properly. Massage changes what is available to you. Training is what keeps it.

Before you book
How long is a sports massage session?
A first appointment runs to about seventy five minutes because it includes the assessment. Follow up sessions are usually sixty minutes. Timings are confirmed when you book.
Does sports massage hurt?
It can be firm, but it should never be something you have to brace through. Pressure is set with you during the session and adjusted as tissue releases. Working through sharp pain is counterproductive, so we do not do it.
Do I need to be an athlete?
No. Most clients are people who sit for a living and train around it. Sports massage describes the approach, which is assessment led and movement focused, rather than the client.
What do I need to provide for a home visit?
Enough floor space for a treatment couch, roughly two metres by one metre, and somewhere to plug in if heat is being used. Everything else is brought with us.
How soon will I feel a difference?
Most people notice a change in range of movement the same day. Tenderness for twenty four to forty eight hours afterwards is normal. Lasting change usually needs the movement work between sessions, not just the treatment itself.
